DistriFusion Pro is an innovative command to help you transfer your objects, being symbols or not, between Documents and Pages.

Requirement

This tutorial requires Fireworks CS3 and higher and DistriFusion Pro

1. Page Structure

As the page structure is getting more complex in Fireworks CS3 and higher, with documents containing multiple pages, we get now a 4-level structure: a Fireworks document can include several pages which at their turn have their own layers and frames. See Figure 1.

As a result, the problem is how to relate those elements and DistriFusion Pro might be an answer. DistriFusion Pro is an innovative command to help you organize your objects between Documents, Layers and Pages. It is a bridge enabling you to freely transfer objects: document-to-document ; document-to-page or page-to-page.

Objects or documents can be selected and you may distribute or combine objects. For example, in a 4-object document, the 4 objects being a symbol or not will be distributed to newly created pages with one object per page. Similarly, you can combine different documents in one or different pages in one.

2. All Documents in One

DistriFusion Pro comes with 11 different combinations and we will see the 'All documents in One' combination. Imagine you draw icons, one per Fireworks document, and when you are done you want to transfer all your icons in one document. With DistriFusion Pro, all opened documents are combined into a new single document with all the objects.

Open DistriFusion Pro, click on the Fuse tab, then select the combination 'All documents' and 'All objects on one page' and press Ok. See Figure 2.

The final result, all objects of the documents are combined into one new document.
