Looks aren't everything however, and this cookware line is not simply another pretty face! No indeed, this collection is constructed of heavy gauge aluminum, reknowned for its fast and even heating, and it's lined with durable non-stick for easy clean up and low fat cooking. Lids are of tempered glass to allow visual monitoring of the cooking process. This sauce pan is a good choice for making puddings, heating hot fudge or dips or for cooking veggies. Additionally the low and wide profile combine to facilitate evaporation, an essential aspect of reduction sauces.

Customer Rating: Summary: Calphalon 2-1/2 qt saucepan Comment: As with other Calphalon cookware, this one is super. It cooks evenly, has no hot spots, and cleans with ease. The glass lid makes checking for doneness very easy. I wish I had known beforehand that commercial non-stick sprays are a NO-NO, as I had just stocked up on PAM sprays. A surprising use--making scrambled eggs for two. Because of the smaller diameter, as opposed to the 10" saute pan, the eggs come out more moist, and I can finish them with the lid that comes with the pan. Customer Rating: Summary: Love it! Comment: This is my favorite saucepan! All of my pans are Calphalon, but some are hard-anodized and I found that the non-stick is much better, so I am going to stick to the non-stick. Ha Ha. I have another 2-1/2 quart hard-anodized saucepan and this one is bigger, which makes it a true 2-1/2 quart pan. I love the extra room it provides and the curved design.
