Fireworks is being upgraded for a better integration with other applications and now provides support for .ase color swatch format. ASE stands for Adobe Swatch Exchange which allows users to conveniently share swatches across Creative Suite Applications. ASE files can be shared among Fireworks, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Kuler.
Figure 1: Swatches palette In the Swatches palette menu choose one of the following :Add,Replace or Save Swatches, and select the ASE file type to save in the ASE format.
Figure 2: Save as Saving in the ASE format creates a .ASE file that you can store conveniently. Importing swatches from Photoshop Exporting swatches to Photoshop Color Palette (Window > Others > Color Palette) cannot export in ase only in act format which can be used in Fireworks only. The workaround is to export as ACT in color palette and import to swatches and lastly to save as ASE. Where to go from hereRelated Tutorials
