In Fireworks CS5, the Selection command with Improved vector rendering and Use legacy vector rendering for vector rendering.

Using the 2 commands we can toggle and choose to render vector either as per pre CS4 i.e. legacy vector rendering, or using the new AGM (Adobe Graphics Model) rendering engine which is the default one that is used whenever vectors are drawn on canvas.

Fireworks team is planning a new Updater for Fireworks CS4. This Updater will fix the Snow Leopard crash on quit bug, as well as other high priority crash and data loss bugs that we’re aware of.

The Updater is expected to be available later in the second Quarter 2010.

Although an apostrophe is a valid character to name a file when you click on water drops’.png in the startup screen, it does not load and does not give any error message. A single apostrophe is causing the problem.

This command is intended for both Fireworks CS3 and 4.

In Fireworks CS4, Fireworks auto-converts all imported quotes to smart quotes, no matter if you copy them from Word or Notepad, CS3, Illustrator. The Only way you can insert straight quotes (single or double) in Fireworks CS4 is to copy/paste such quotes from Photoshop.

On the other hand, in Fireworks CS3 the only way to get smart quotes is to import them from another application.

A bit of typogragraphy today with straight quotes and smart quotes.

The problem is that since Fireworks CS4 you no longer get straight quotes. What you type are smart quotes and the quotes you want to import are automatically converted into smart quotes. There is a workaround.
