Path Panel The new path panel in Fireworks CS4 has been updated and now consists of over 50 vector and path tools to create quality designs.

But due to poor documentation, even in the online Help, I feel that these new tools do not have the exposure they deserve and that they are not used as efficiently as they could be. There are some good articles to explain various bits of it, but there’s no comprehensive documentation like there really should be.

This article is an answer to fill the gap. In this first part, we will see the 9 commands of Combine Paths. Each command is commented separately and illustrated with examples.

Blend Paths

The blend paths command was launched with Fireworks CS3 and it is not the equivalent of Illustrator’s blend path: the blending of colours is less apparent, it is more a shape tweening instead. This command can create abstract effects but it is also a first step in the 3D since you can create wireframe objects. Read more.

DistriFusion Pro As the information structure is getting more complex in Fireworks with documents containing multiple pages, we get now a 4-level structure: one document can include several pages which at their turn have their own layers and frames.

As a result, the problem is how to relate those elements and DistriFusion Pro might be an answer.

DistriFusion Pro is an innovative command to help you organize your objects between Documents and Pages. It is a bridge between Document(s) and Page(s) enabling you to freely transfer objects: document-to-document ; document-to-page or page-to-page.

Download freely the DistriFusion Pro’s Manual to learn more and to see if it is meant for you.
