More and more designers are now reflecting on Fireworks. After a first article in July from Digital_Web, a second one more recently Making Illustrator and Fireworks Fit it is now [Re]Encoded who tries to answer fundamental questions: what are Fireworks and Photoshp strenghts and weaknesses and at the end of the day which is best?
For their comparison they take into account 4 features:
- Quick Modifications
- Print Design
- Web Design
- Advanced Techniques

10|Sep|2008 1I’ve been using FW as my primary image editing program for years. When I do need to use PS, I often feel frustrated by some of its non-standard features, for example the lack of multiple undos. (Yes, I know there’s a history panel, but I like to just hit ctrl-z out of habit.) I think PS attempts to be all things to all people, while FW is a more focused app. I will be sad if Adobe ever decides to stop updating Fireworks.

10|Sep|2008 2^ I’m in the same boat. I often prefer Fireworks’ intuitive nature over the complications of PS. Also, depending on your PS version, you may be able to use Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Alt+Z to do successive undos.
BTW, this is Mark from [Re]Encoded… I appreciate the link
