  1. Open a New Document and set the Width and Height to 400x200 px. Draw a rectangle same as your Document size i.e 400x200 px. Then hit the letter B on your keyboard or select the Brush tool 3D dots from the Toolbar.
  2. Set the Tip size to about 2 or 3 and set the Edge to 100 and make sure you have selected black as a color. Then click once to create your first dot in the top left corner. See the Figure 1.

Use the Grid View > Grid > Show Grid to guide you to keep the same distance between the dots and to modify the number of dots per line.

  3. Then, you need to create a row of them, the easiest way is to copy by holding Ctrl+C then paste by holding Ctrl+V. The second one will be exactly on top of the first, so you may not see it. What you want to do from here is to move it precisely 20 pixels to the right. Select the dot, and the properties bar should show you the X scale at the bottom left of the screen. Click this X scale and give it a new number by adding 20 (e.g. if it was X:6 then make it X:26). Do this over and over till you have a complete row. See Figure 2.

  5. Select all the dots by holding Ctrl+A, so we can flatten the image. Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Z or right-click and Flatten Selection.
  6. Remember, only those images selected will flatten to become one image. Anything not selected will stay separate. Now we need to fill the screen with those dots, select the row of dots, create a copy and paste it (Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V). Select the new row (remember it is right on top of the old one) and move it precisely 20 pixels down by adding 20 to the Y scale, (just like we did with the X scale in the previous step) to put the new row where we want it. Then do this over and over to fill the screen with dots and you are done. See Figure 3.
